Invasive body jewelry by Naomi Kizhner collects your energy

by Anna Marie Cooper August 26, 2014

This one is straight up Sci-fi you guys. These creations from Naomi Kizhner made me squirm, but I also recognize the artistry and intense thought that went into them. Made from gold and 3-D printed polymers they were created to theoretically harvest energy from the body's subconscious movements. The spine implant would harvest energy from neurological pulses, the nose bridge would tap into the movement of our eye blinks, and the vein implant would create energy with the flow of blood. The artist wanted to make us think about how far we would go to obtain energy in the future. With the continued depletion of natural resources its definitely something to consider. Check out her work here.
