Found - False murmurations

by Anna Marie Cooper July 09, 2014

Murmuration is defined as: 1) the act of murmuring 2) a flock of starlings. I have been in love with the shapes found within a murmuration of starlings ever since the release of this video a few years ago. It inspired the name of my second Etsy shop, and drove me to further explore the potential for minimalism in nature. Naturally, when I found these works by Alain Delorme, I was instantly drawn to them. What really got me was when I realized that rather than using birds, Delorme uses plastic bags to grouped together to mimic the structure of the flocks that I so admire. They are so well executed that it is hardly noticeable until after a close inspection. Tricky, tricky.
