I'm always keen on trying to find something beautiful in virtually every place I go. It is a personal challenge to myself that I am usually able to manage - especially here in the Pacific Northwest. Here things are generally in the pretty to breath taking range, and so my task is a fairly simple one. That's why I am so in awe of Michael Wolf's photographic journal of Hong Kong. Having been there myself, and lived in apartments similar to these, I realize how much artistry is involved in framing these buildings like this. Some of them take on the look of crystalline structures that are under extreme magnification. I love his ability to capture the order in the chaos. It's a gift to be able to do that for yourself on a personal level, much less to share with other people.
There are so many more on his website and it is absolutely worth checking out. Spend some extra time looking at his photographs of factory workers as well. It's fascinating look into a world many of us never get to see.
